New: Crash Course & Coaching on the French Works Council (CSE)
The works council in France (Comité Social et Économique, or CSE for short) differs significantly from its German counterpart. It is mandatory once certain thresholds are reached and is essential for social dialogue as well as in the context of reorganisations and restructuring.
With our two new formats, our team specialising in French collective labour law will help you to integrate the CSE into your day-to-day work in a legally sound and pragmatic manner.
Have you reached the threshold of 11 employees for 12 consecutive months and have you just elected a CSE? Or have you been working with an employee representative body for some time and have now exceeded another threshold (50 or 300 employees), meaning that the role of the CSE has changed significantly? 1 Crash Course „Practical Handling of the CSE“ (approx. 1.5 hours)
The objective: You know what you, as an employer, are legally required to do, where you are allowed to say "no", and how to avoid common mistakes right from the start.
In a concise online or face-to-face session, we explain the key issues involved in working with the CSE, including:
- Organisation and conduct of CSE meetings
- The resources the employer must provide
- Powers and limits of the CSE
- Special protection against dismissal for CSE members
- Working with the CSE in difficult situations (crises, conflicts)
2 Ongoing CSE Coaching (monthly)
The objective: An efficient, legally sound and at the same time constructive approach to dealing with your staff representatives.
One-to-one coaching sessions once or twice a month (30 or 60 minutes) to discuss your current issues relating to staff representation:
- Specific questions regarding the convening and conduct of meetings
- Dealing with enquiries and requests from the CSE
- Preparing for sensitive topics (e.g. reorganisations, disciplinary measures)
- Strategic approach to relations with the CSE depending on the size of your company
