Qivive strengthens its Corporate and M&A team

Since January 2024, Margarete Gutkès, an experienced expert in M&A and private equity transactions, has joined our firm’s M&A team on a permanent basis, after having worked as of counsel since 2023. Her arrival adds another talented member to Qivive's Corporate and M&A department, consolidating the firm’s position as one of the leaders in this field in Franco-German law.

Margarete has over twenty-five years of experience in German and French corporate law, M&A and LBOs. She advises listed companies, investment funds and SMEs in Franco-German cross-border transactions. She has also assisted her clients in the Eastern countries, the Maghreb countries and Qatar. She contributes her extensive expertise in particular in strategic operations such as cross-border mergers, joint ventures, as well as pre-litigation and litigation proceedings in corporate law.

Margarete has worked as a lawyer at the German Desk of international law firms such as Mazars (Marccus Partners), Haarmann Hemmelrath and Deloitte. She is a German lawyer and has been working in French law since completing her Master's degree in French commercial law (DEA en Droit des affaires) at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

In addition to her practical work as a lawyer, she is an associate professor (maître de conférences associé) and the pedagogical director of the Franco-German Master's programme in Business Law at the University CY Cergy Paris. She lectures in particular on German corporate law and French law on cross-border mergers.
